We work with our clients to implement a strategy to identify and evaluate works which merit copyright protection, and then work with our clients in evaluating the identified works. We also consider fair use issues for our clients to ensure that our clients do not violate the copyrights of others and consider works of others which may constitute a copyright infringement.
We prepare and file copyright applications with the United States Copyright Office for all types of works (e.g., literary works, movies, dances, musical compositions, audio recordings, paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, software, and radio and television broadcasts).
Copyright Infringement Studies/Opinions
We study works accused of infringement and, if necessary, prepare opinions demonstrating non-infringement or other fair-use rights.
We negotiate and prepare licenses and agreements related to our client’s copyrighted works.
We represent copyright owners or accused infringers in infringement litigation, including ex parte seizure orders, temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions and civil contempt proceedings in the Federal District Courts. We also work with our clients to settle disputes using various forms of alternative dispute resolution, such as arbitration and mediation.
